Why Brandon Armstrong’s Wife Brylee Was ‘Nervous’ Before ‘DWTS’ Elimination
Brylee Armstrong had a bad feeling when she saw her husband Brandon Armstrong’s Dancing With the Stars costume on Mariah CareyNight.
Brylee, 28, took to Instagram ahead of Brandon, 32, and Ciara Miller’s elimination on Tuesday, October 6, to share that she was “nervous” that the pair might get sent home due to an unlucky color they were wearing.
“Me when I found out Brandon is wearing yellow tonight on DWTS: #iykyk,” she captioned a post of his look, which featured a red vest, a white dress shirt and a mustard yellow bowtie. Miller, 30, for her part, wore a bedazzled red sweater and bowtie matching Brandon’s.
“Who let them wear yellow?!” Brylee said while putting her head in her hands.
“PLEASE VOTE FOR THEM 😭 I’m getting nervous!!!” she added in the caption. “Vote ‘Ciara’ to 21523 ten times and online at dwtsvote.abc.com 🙏🏼 #dwts #trend #humor.” Her fans were quick to agree that the color is cursed in the comments section.

“THAT’S WHAT I SAID OH MY GOSH. I TOLD MY HUSBAND THERE SHOULD NEVER EVEN BE A HINT OF YELLOW ON THIS MAN DURING THE SEASON,” one wrote, while another added, “He’s never allowed to wear even the smallest shade of yellow😭😭😭.” A third added, “NOOOOOO…. The yellow theory lives on 💔💔💔.”
For the uninitiated, the “yellow theory” is that Brandon always happens to be wearing the color when he and his partner are eliminated from the show. In the last four seasons, he’s been sent home while clad in the hue.
During season 34, he finished in 12th place with Lauren Jauregui while rocking a bright yellow construction vest. Jauregui, 30, for her part, danced in a fringe mini dress with silver sparkly details. His last elimination was with Lele Pons during season 33, when he wore a sunshine-colored jacket. (During season 34, he placed third with Chandler Kinney in the finale and did not face elimination.)
