Pricing for the base model of the Galaxy Note 8, which is expected to come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, could start at as much as CNY 6,288 ($942) in Asia, reports ITHome.
Two other variants are expected to hit the shelves in the region—one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, and the other with 6GB and 256GB—and they’re set to be a little more expensive.
The former will reportedly carry a price tag of CNY 7,088 ($1,062), while the latter will retail for CNY 7,988 ($1,200). Whatever way you slice it, that’s an awful lot of money to spend on a smartphone.
It’s impossible to tell whether the aforementioned prices will apply to other regions, like Europe and North America, where reliable tipster Evan Blass expects pricing to start at $1,200 for the regular version.
Let’s recap what we (think we) know
The Galaxy Note 8 will feature a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, a dual-camera setup and at least a 3,300mAh battery, according to recent rumors.
