The most popular article shared on Facebook between January and March was about a Florida doctor who died weeks after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Saturday, Facebook released its first-quarter content transparency report after The New York Times published a story the day before claiming executives balked at sharing it with the public due to the concerns it would make the company look bad.

In a Twitter thread Saturday, Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone said the company held the report from public view due to “key fixes to the system” Facebook wanted to make.

“We’re guilty of cleaning up our house a bit before we invited company,” wrote Stone. “We’ve been criticized for that; and again, that’s not unfair.”
