his decision has come at a most inopportune time for his team.

The Colts placed Wentz on the COVID-19 list – which does not mean he tested positive; he could have been a close contact – on Tuesday as the team confronts an outbreak that left them shorthanded in their victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday.

Unvaccinated players who are placed in the protocols miss 10 days, meaning he will miss the Colts’ upcoming game Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders; the Colts lead the Raiders by one game in the AFC wild card standings.

NFL Network reported Tuesday the league is considering adjusting the quarantine and isolation timelines in light of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s decision to halve those periods from 10 days to five days, regardless of vaccination status (masking still required).
