The latest: She tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated. Teddi Mellencamp revealed that she got the virus from her husband Edwin Arroyave, who was not vaccinated

Teddi revealed the news on Monday’s episode of her podcast, Teddi Tea Pod.

‘A while back I had COVID and I didn’t really talk about it because I was just really focused on making sure that I was healthy and my family was healthy,’ she said.

‘I was vaccinated and my husband was not, which he has since realized what big mistake that was,’ Teddi added.

‘At first, he tested positive so he was quarantined. Then I had a feeling so I just quarantined myself as well into another room until I ended up testing positive.’

The star continued that since they ‘both had COVID’ they ‘had to quarantine from our family, and actually from each other.’

Since she was vaccinated and her husband was not, the duo experienced very different symptoms.

‘I got through it quicker,’ she said, adding that it was about six days of symptoms for her.

Meanwhile Edwin was sick for about 15 days and dealt with more severe symptoms.

‘Edwin, he was super weak, and it was so many different things and it really was a great reminder how important it is, you know, to get vaccinated.’

Teddi and Edwin are parents to three children together: Slate, eight, Cruz, six, and Dove, one.

She explained that it was ‘extremely difficult’ to not be around her kids when in quarantine but that she was ‘worried of giving it to them, especially because Slate has an autoimmune disease.

Teddi said she still has vertigo, which is a symptom of the disease: ‘I would feel like I was laying on a water bed and then when I’d get up I’d feel dizzy. And it kind of lingered with me, even post-COVID, and it had been continuing to happen.’

Last week, the star shared a snap of herself after she fell and fainted during an episode of vertigo, revealing that she cut her lip and got a black eye.

She had said that after that ‘scary’ incident, she ‘felt really foggy and just not like myself every since,’ adding that she will ‘be diligent about wanting to understand why it happened.’
