The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker tweets that she’s filing for her Nigerian citizenship as she’s calling out President Trump for ordering the airstrike in Iran.

Cardi B is more than welcome should she really intend to move to Nigeria. The rapper recently quipped about leaving the U.S. and filing for her Nigerian citizenship while reacting to the U.S. airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport that killed Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, a specialized unit in the Revolutionary Guards, on January 2.

Responding to the World War III memes that have gone viral since the attack, the Bronx femcee tweeted on Saturday, January 4, “Naaaaa these memes are f**kin but s**t ain’t no joke ! Specially being from New York.”

She went on calling out President Donald Trump, who directed the strike, as writing, “Its sad this man is putting Americans live in danger.Dumbest move Trump did till date.” She jokingly added, “I’m filing for my Nigerian citizenship.”

It didn’t take long for Nigerian government official to notice Cardi’s tweet and respond to it. Abike Dabiri Erewa, NIDCOM chairman under the Presidency, replied to the 27-year-old’s post, “@iamcardib . As one in charge of the Diaspora for Ngr, We can’t wait to receive you again. Our doors are open, sister. And you need to talk a walk through the Door of Return in Badagry . It’s an indescribable experience.”

Meanwhile, Bashir Ahmad, personal assistant to Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari, used the opportunity to jokingly declare the country’s win in the Nigeria vs. Ghana rivalry. “Nigeria vs Ghana, case closed,” he commented on Twitter.

Cardi, born in Washington Heights, Manhattan of a Dominican father and Trinidadian mother, may not have a Nigerian descent, but she recently embarked on a tour of Nigeria and Ghana, her first in Africa. The December 2019 trip apparently left good memories for the “I Like It” raptress which prompted her to consider relocating to Nigeria if war ever breaks in the U.S., though she made the remark in jest.
