Guy Fieri’s taste buds have a lot of experience. So, for the Food Network star to dub a recipe one of his “all time favorites” it must be good.
Fieri, whose sixth show on the Food Network, “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night” premiered Aug. 31, tells USA TODAY that his tequila turkey fettuccini is a dish that he and his family loves.
The recipe calls for turkey — “big slices of turkey,” he says, which can be interpreted as thick slices of turkey. But not many people are going to buy thick slices of turkey at the store, and thin slices won’t work because they will fall apart.
But there’s another way to make the tequila-infused dish that Fieri — who has a tequila brand with Sammy Hagar called Santo — says is very good.

“We’ve made the dish before with with rotisserie chicken, which works out awesome,” Fieri says. “Because rotisserie chicken, when it cooks with the bone and the fat in the skin, you just really get this next level of flavor.”
Achieving a rich flavor is the reason turkey is used in the original recipe, he says. Rotisserie chicken makes the cooking easier, though — and, to top it off, it’s “a little bit more economical,” too.
“It’s the bomb,” Fieri adds.
There are other ways to alter the recipe, too. Sometimes, he also makes sandwiches out of the tequila turkey, instead of putting the meat into the pasta.
