President Joe Biden’s first nominee to the nation’s highest court is poised for Senate confirmation, a prospect that was boosted after three Senate Republicans – Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitt Romney of Utah – announced their support ahead of the final vote. If confirmed, she will be the first Black woman to sit on the nation’s highest court in its 233-year history.
