HONG KONG (AP) — The Hong Kong Open tennis contest was deferred indefinitely Friday since of widespread protests in a region.
The contest had been scheduled to be hold from Oct. 5-13 on outside tough courts during Victoria Park. Tournament organizers pronounced a eventuality would be put behind “in light of a benefaction situation” though did not give a new date.
A summer of criticism has rocked a region, led by campaigns opposite a due extradition law that would concede Hong Kong suspects to be sent to China for trial.
