JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Two-time Grand Slam finalist Kevin Anderson says he will take a rest of a 2019 deteriorate off as he continues to redeem from a right knee injury.
The hard-serving South African hasn’t played in a contest given losing in a third turn of Wimbledon in July, and pulled out of a U.S. Open since of his knee problems.
He pronounced on Twitter on Tuesday that he will not play again until subsequent year. In a statement, Anderson said: “I have oral with my team, consulted with doctors, and we have motionless that a best march of movement is to take a rest of a year off and ready for 2020. This will give me adequate time to bear some-more rehab processes and get healthy.”
The 33-year-old Anderson was a runner-up to Rafael Nadal during Flushing Meadows in 2017 and to Novak Djokovic during Wimbledon final year.
