8 Arrested During Protests Of Second Hawaii Telescope
HONOLULU (AP) – Eight people were arrested early Thursday during a criticism opposite a Maui solar telescope, including a personality in a bid to stop a hulk telescope on a Big Island.
Protesters collected Wednesday night to try to stop a procession delivering materials to Haleakala, where a Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope is being built. Protest leaders contend they’re desirous by a identical bid to stop construction of a Thirty Meter Telescope on a Big Island’s Mauna Kea.
