
ASHWAUBENON, Wisconsin – More than 100 passengers had to be requisitioned on another moody Saturday morning after a craft they were on slid off a taxiway during Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.
About 6:15 a.m. Saturday, a Delta aircraft carrying 107 passengers to Atlanta slid off a taxiway as it was creation a approach from a depot to a runway for takeoff, airfield executive Marty Piette said. No one was injured, and there was no repairs to a aircraft.
The passengers were bused behind to a depot to make other moody arrangements. No other flights were canceled Saturday, Piette said.
Conditions were icy during a time, though Piette pronounced he can’t be certain if that’s what caused a craft to slip off a taxiway. He pronounced airfield staff were wakeful of a icy conditions and treated a taxiway with silt and alerted pilots of a conditions.
“From an airfield standpoint, we do all we can to make conditions as good as they can be,” Piette said, adding that planes shifting off runways is not something that happens unequivocally often.
Green Bay proprietor Kent Maxwell was on a craft when it skidded off a taxiway. People on a craft were “calm and respectful,” he said, and Delta rebooked a passengers on a opposite moody and gave them dish vouchers.
Maxwell pronounced he believes a commander was “going too quick for a conditions” though pronounced “everyone seemed to accept a conditions and a need to rebook.”
“I fly a lot, and customarily problems means sparse passengers to unequivocally get excited,” Maxwell said. “That didn’t occur on this flight. we consider many people can describe to shifting off a highway into a ditch.”
As of around 10:30 a.m., a craft was still stuck, Piette said. Pictures posted on amicable media also uncover one of a plane’s wheels stranded in a weed off a taxiway.
