Google didn’t really include anything monumental in Android 8.0 Oreo, but the latest version of its mobile operating system does have a handy feature for everyone. Picture-in-Picture mode allows one app’s content to exist on top of another app.
It’s not similar to the existing split-screen view by the way. Your phone’s display isn’t sharing space for two apps to be fully accessible at all times. What you’ll see instead is a little floating box that shows one app’s presence while another is completely open. Apps like YouTube and Google Maps are already taking advantage of Picture-in-Picture mode so that you can watch videos or get step-by-step directions while doing other things.
