WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana — Illinois men’s basketball sophomore forward Alan Griffin was ejected for stepping on Purdue sophomore guard Sasha Stefanovic during Tuesday’s game.
Griffin was ejected with 12:18 left in the first half. No. 22 Illinois led the Big Ten battle 14-10 at the time of Griffin’s ejection.
Griffin received a Flagrant 2 technical foul for the act.
He was replaced in the game by Illinois sophomore guard Tevian Jones.
Illinois came into the game 13-5 overall and 5-2 in the Big Ten. It defeated Northwestern 75-71 on Saturday.
Purdue entered the matchup 10-8 overall and 3-4 in the Big Ten. Most recently, Purdue lost at No. 17 Maryland 57-50 on Saturday.
