Jödicke said that ‘celebs like @aaroncarter should set an example, especially since he’s also from a creative background and knows copyright laws.
‘If they can take art and do whatever with it, anyone can and will do it. If they’re not held responsible, people won’t stop treating artists like crap.’
Jödicke said he ‘would have been happy to handle this issue differently, had [Carter] reached out privately after [his] tweet’ addressing the grievance.
‘But the way he responded is making a mockery of the artist community and I can’t sit with that,’ he said. ‘I‘ve had enough of people treating artists that way.’

Jödicke later spoke to Forbes about how Carter called attention to his complaint, leaving the artist community ‘outraged.’
‘His response to my tweet was what got the whole tweetstorm going,’ the artist said. ‘Instead of apologizing or reaching out to me to discuss things, he insulted me and said I should be glad he was using my art to promote his store.
‘I was absolutely amazed as to how he could respond in such a way and not expect people to lash out. I shared his response on my Twitter and Instagram and that is when it really blew up. In his Youtube livestream, he joked about my tweet having “17 likes.” As of now, it has more than 70k likes and reached more than 5 million.’
Carter was past embroiled in a similar predicament last fall when he was accused of lifting another shot involving a lion.
‘I’m pulling the lion image I was accused of stealing this and bullied and I’m throwing it in the trash and suing everyone coming [at] me for clout I’m going to render a new one for myself,’ he said in a September 28 tweet.
