FRISCO, Texas — At first glance, Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee’s gameday water bottle looks like those of his teammates.
The green-and-orange Gatorade squirt bottle isn’t “labeled big enough,†Lee says, so he understands how teammates on a frenetic NFL sideline might miss the word “coffee†scribbled atop that label.
During the Cowboys’ 44-21 win over the Rams last week, defensive tackle Antwaun Woods became the unknowing victim of a “terrible†mouthful of black coffee when he sought water.
Safety Jeff Heath has tried it. Linebacker Joe Thomas thinks his mix-up came in Week 3.
“I accidentally picked it up and drank it and was like, ‘What the [expletive] is this?’†Thomas told USA TODAY Sports. “But it actually gave me a little boost. So whenever I see it, I’ll take a little sip.
“I call it the Sean Juice.â€
Just another quirk for one of the most intense players on the Cowboys roster.

When Jason Garrett thinks back to his earliest memory of Lee’s intensity, the Cowboys head coach remembers when he first met Dallas’ 2010 second-round draft pick out of Penn State.
“Anybody who’s had a conversation with Sean Lee about football recognizes that intensity,†Garrett said. “Looks you right in the eye. It’s almost like he wants to tackle you in the conversation.â€
