This 'Fresh Prince' parody by Utah lawmakers is everything you thought it might be

Utah’s House of Representatives made a music video about how a law is made and it went exactly how you thought it might go. 

Various lawmakers appear on screen and “rap” a line or two from the theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, which was rewritten to explain Utah’s legislative process.

Some were more spirited in their delivery, others not so much. But the end product is an interesting 76 seconds.

Among the more notable lines: “In a legislator’s mind, an idea is raised. In the law book is where they spend most of their days.”

The chamber’s Twitter account released the video on Wednesday, saying, “Our representatives have taken the time to explain how a law is made…with a surprise twist.”

It’s worth a watch.
