Remember Misty of Chincoteague? While both islands have gotten bearing for Marguerite Henry’s children’s book (and movie), usually Assateague contains furious ponies, given it’s a stable inlet sanctuary. A really relaxed end for beachgoers and equine lovers alike, your best gamble is to check out Wild Beach, which is permitted only on feet or by vessel and scarcely totally dull (save for a brute pony, of course).
