U of O lab putting 3D printers to use in quarrel opposite COVID-19
An Ottawa lab is seeing a call to assistance frontline health-care workers by regulating a 3D printers to make vital personal protecting equipment.
The Ontario Medical Association and a Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario say there’s an imminent hazard of shortages of apparatus such as face masks as hospitals ready for a expected call of COVID-19 patients.
“We know that we have a certain set of knowledge, skills and resources that could make a difference. “We know that we have a capability, we have equipment, we have … an army of students and village members who always wish to assistance and support these initiatives. So, we suspicion that we’d try and give it a best,” she said.
“It’s unequivocally distressing to see what’s going on now.”
Post-secondary institutions stepping up
