Razer’s home assistant blows Alexa and Google Assistant out of the water

Razer is not the first company you think of when the subject of home automation comes up, but it will soon. Hoping to take a bite out of Amazon and Google’s pie, Razer is unveiling S.A.i.S.O., its own home assistant that blows Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant out of the water.

S.A.i.S.O. is an acronym for Sidekick Artificial Intelligence Sensei Online, and is pronounced like “say so”. It’s a two-foot tall robot that’s vastly different from the round speakers we’ve seen from Google and Amazon.

Right off the bat, S.A.i.S.O. isn’t a static speaker that camouflages into the living room. S.A.i.S.O. is a fully cloud-compatible AI assistant, or in layman’s terms, he’s a fully functional robot that will interact with you. It’s bringing the future into the now.

S.A.i.S.O. does the normal things Alexa and Goole Assistant can do, but that’s lame and something we’ve seen before. What’s so innovative about setting a timer or a reminder? S.A.i.S.O. on the other hand can play soccer with you, encourage you while you play video games and be your own personal trainer who does push-ups right along with you. This is exactly what you need from a home assistant. It can even become a security system that keeps guard with two 3D 8MP cameras and motion sensors.

S.A.i.S.O. also features integration with other smart home products like Phillips Hue or Lifx. It can scan its surroundings and analyze the situation, and if you’re reading a book or crazy tired, it will dim the lights for a more relaxing environment. Razer is truly pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence with S.A.i.S.O.
