Expect the OnePlus 6T to arrive in October with carrier assistance.
In the fall, T-Mobile will become the first U.S. carrier to offer OnePlus-made hardware in its lineup. Both sidesÂ have been in negotiations and reached an agreement for exclusive availability, according toÂ CNET. You wonâ€™t see any of the other major U.S. carriers selling OnePlusâ€™ next flagship because of the partnership.
The price should be $500 at full retail; however, itâ€™s unclear what type of monthly payments or promotions T-Mobile will offer on its own. T-Mobile often trots out buy-one-get-one deals for new high-end phones, tablets, and smartwatches. So donâ€™t go thinking John Legere will welcome the OnePlus 6T in quiet fashion.
If youâ€™re in the U.S., youâ€™ll still be able to purchase the OnePlus 6T unlocked. T-Mobile, though, joins as an appealing alternative. There should be certified network connectivity as well as options for financing and insurance. Donâ€™t rule out a magenta-colored OnePlus 6T, either.
OnePlus talked toÂ multiple U.S. carriers earlier this year about selling the OnePlus 6, but nothing ever formalized. Yet there mustâ€™ve been some interest from T-Mobile for it to sign on now.
Weâ€™ll have to wait and see how this plays out. OnePlus was never put through the rigorous testing imposed by carriers, and that might delay the OnePlus 6Tâ€™s debut at T-Mobile.
