Logitech Craft is a sophisticated keyboard with a touch-sensitive dial

The Craft supports Logitech’s smart illumination feature, so the backlight will turn off when the keyboard isn’t in use. Once you approach the keys they’ll light up. And the backlight will also adjust depending on how much ambient light there is. If you’re in a well-lit room, there’s no point of having backlit keys; if you’re in the dark, however, the Craft’s sensor will recognize the conditions and light up.

It’s this attention to detail that makes the Craft more than a keyboard. The aluminum bar at the top gives it a pleasing heft, while the keys retain their stealthy black presentation in the face of finger grease. It also works seamlessly with the MX Master 2S’ Flow feature, so as soon as you switch over to a new computer, the Craft is ready to type.

Logitech claims the battery is rated to last a week, but your mileage will vary depending on how much you use the backlit keys. If you hardly use the backlighting at all, the keyboard will get excellent battery. If you use the backlit keys on conjunction with the Craft’s dial, however, you may need to charge more frequently. In our testing, we got about four days of battery before needing to charge. Turn backlighting off entirely, and Logitech claims battery should last around three months.

If you need more than a keyboard, the Craft is worth consideration. It features a beautiful design, integration with Logitech’s excellent Options software, and a handy dial designed to speed up your workflow.

The Logitech Craft will be available from Logitech’s website in October for $199.
