LG’s new X Power2 smartphone has a huge freakin’ battery

The LG X Power2 packs a 4,500mAh non-removable battery under the hood, which LG says provides up to 18 hours of web surfing or 15 hours of continuous video playback. Given its relatively low-power 1.5GHz processor and 5.5-inch HD display, I bet it lasts more than a day on a standard charge, too.

LG says that, despite the size of the battery, the phone can get a 50-percent charge after an hour at the outlet or a full charge after two hours. That doesn’t sound too fast to me, but I guess 4,500mAh is a lot larger than we’re used to, right?

Other features include a 13MP camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, Android 7.0 Nougat, LTE/3G/2G support, USB OTG and four color choices (black, silver, gold and blue.)

X Power2 release date

LG said the X Power2 will be on display at Mobile World Congress this week and will hit markets in Latin America beginning in March. It will also hit the US, Asia, Europe and other regions at a later time. Pricing was not revealed.
