Erin Andrews didn’t intend to cause a fashion formation — but she did.
The NFL reporter’s luxe faux fur coat worn at the San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles matchup sparked viral buzz, which Andrews said she had “zero clue” about until after the 49ers took home the win with a 23-19 final score.
“It’s such a different look for me,” she shared during a Tuesday, January 13, interview with Glamour. “In the wind, I know it looked like a Beyoncé video.”
Andrews, 47, was the ultimate trendsetter while rocking the FOX JACKET from AUTER in the Smoke Noir color, a bold smoke-and-black palette, that costs $950 and quickly sold out after her stylish sideline appearance.
“It felt fabulous, it felt like a big event, it felt like a big wild card playoff game on FOX. It was the perfect time to wear this piece and I’m so excited we did it,” Andrews added.
“I knew when my stylist, Daniela Romero, suggested I wear it that it was outside the box and super fun — and I thought Philly was the best place to do it,” Andrews shared. It fit the weather, considering it was a chilly and breezy day at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
She admitted, “I forgot I was even wearing it when I did my first hit with the NFL on FOX Pregame Show because I was so locked in. I was intro-ing Christian McCaffrey, and it’s the Wild Card, it’s a big deal.”
Prior to speaking out about her look, Andrews reposted a photo of herself on the sidelines via Instagram Stories, tagging the clothing brand and her stylist as well as celebrity makeup and hair artist Denise Madrigal. Romero also tagged fashion stylist Rob Zangardi in a post, whose brand prides itself on making a collection of “sculptural wool coats, technical outerwear, shearling, and animal-free furs — each conceived with a future-heirloom sensibility,” per the website.
Although she didn’t expect the massive fan response, Andrews had a feeling that her look was going to be talked about on social media, especially after hearing Michael Strahan sound off behind the booth, she told NewBeauty. “But did I think it would get such a big reaction? No, not at all,” Andrews shared.

“Even in the airport on the way home, I got stopped by passengers who asked about the coat. When I was traveling to the game, I was holding the coat in my arms because I didn’t want to lose it, and a guy asked me when I got on the plane if it was alive. And I looked at him and said, ‘No, but it’s going to look damn good on camera.’ And now, just seeing the reaction, I’m still laughing about it,” she revealed.
After some fans lightly roasted her look, joking about her looking like an emu and Cruella de Vil, PETA posted their reaction on X and gave a round of applause to her cruelty-free jacket.
The animal rights nonprofit organization wrote, “That’s how you serve a showstopping look without harming animals 👏✨ Love that this coat is faux! 🙏.”
