‘IT’ will get nightmarish clown-only screenings at the Alamo Drafthouse

I can wade through horror games like Silent Hill and Until Dawn, but when it comes to horror movies, I’m a baby. Even trailers for the upcoming IT spook me. As if the movie’s sheer existence wasn’t enough, the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain is looking to make all our worst nightmares come true. The Austin, Texas location of the Alamo Drafthouse is hosting a clown-only screening of the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s infamous horror tale.

The event is set to take place a day after the movie’s premiere, and the Drafthouse website says that you ‘should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend.” If you show up, you’ll also be able to enjoy a pre-party with a touch-up station, a photo booth, a raffle, and “other terrifying merriment.”

If you’re one of those people who laughs at horror movies and you live in the Austin area, you’ll want to get gussied up and check it out. If you’re like me, though, maybe close your blinds.
