If you were hoping to get a sweet new color for the next iPhone, we got bad news for you: Every new iPhone model this year, including the iPhone 8, will come in just three color options, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The three colors will be black, silver and gold. The new color variants seem to line-up with a previous leak that showed off three colors of the iPhone, including the black and silver and another that feature a copper hue.
If Kuo’s report turns out to be true, it’s disappointing the new iPhones will be available in just three colors. There are six colors available for the iPhone 7, meaning Apple would seriously cut back on available options for customers—at least at launch.
Kuo also revealed a few more interesting details, including that newer iPhones will also come with fast charging but only through enabled USB-C power adapters. Kuo also claims Apple will begin mass production of the iPhone 8 in mid-September.
Kuo notes supplies for the OLED iPhone will be extremely limited at launch, forecasting a shipment of 2 to 4 million units during the third quarter, with improved supply in early 2018.
