Samsung will launch the much-anticipated Galaxy Note 8 in the United States on August 24, less than 24-hours after it’s unveiled to the world, according to a Best Buy employee reportedly familiar with the firm’s plans.
The information was shared over on Reddit, where a moderator was able to verify that the source is indeed a worker on Best Buy’s payroll — but nonetheless, it should still be taken with a considerable pinch of salt.
Recently, a reliable Korean publication reported that Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 8 in South Korea on September 15, so it’s tough to imagine it launching in another region (even the United States) before that date.
If leaks and rumors are anything to go by, the handset will ship with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, a dual-camera setup and a 3,300mAh non-removable battery.
