A report has surfaced claiming that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 8 in India on September 25, where it will carry a price tag of INR 69,900 ($1,077)—but seeing as the firm is still yet to announce any information surrounding pricing and availability in the region, the information should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt.
To encourage consumers to splash an eye-watering amount of money on its latest smartphone, Samsung has drawn up some incentives; those who pre-order a unit in India will receive a complimentary Convertible Wireless Charger, while customers in Europe will be eligible for a free DeX dock (they’ll need to claim it).
As usual, the United States has the best offer. Folks can choose between either a Gear 360 (2017) VR camera—which retails for $229—or a bundle containing a 128GB microSD card and a Convertible Wireless Charger. Samsung is also throwing in a 60-day taster subscription to its premium in-home support service.
There’s no denying the fact that the stylus-toting Galaxy Note 8 is a fantastic smartphone with its 6.3-inch Infinity Display and Snapdragon 835 processor, but a smaller battery and a less ergonomic build has resulted in a number of loyal Galaxy Note fans gravitating towards the near-identical Galaxy S8 Plus.
Stay tuned for our full review to find out exactly what we think of the handset.
