A bat has tested certain for rabies in Jasper National Park, according to Alberta Health Services and Parks Canada.
AHS said a hiker reported a bat on a Valley of Five Lakes trail, only south of Jasper, final weekend.
Parks Canada staff investigated and prisoner a bat.
A series of bats, and spasmodic other mammals, exam certain for rabies in Alberta each year. Officials advise that animals working scarcely or out of impression might be rabies carriers.
