AT&T upgrades its international Passport plan with more data

ATT this week announced it’s upgrading its international Passport plan to offer more data when you travel abroad. The Passport program now offers a 1GB tier of data for $60 and 3GB for $120 and will be available in over 200 countries.

Customers can activate the plan on a monthly basis and either add it as one-time fee or as a recurring charge. If you opt for a one month charge, the international data pool will be available for 30 days after which it will expire.

The bump up in data is a nice move on ATT’s part. Previously, the Passport plan started at $40 and offered a paltry 200MB of data.

ATT also offers an International Day Pass that lets customers access their US-based data, text and call plan internationally for $10 a day. That’s useful if you’re out of the country for a few days, but if it’s any longer, that bill will add up quickly. This is where the Passport plan becomes more viable.

Traveling customers can take advantage of ATT’s upgraded Passport plan now.
