Rudy Gobert: Reports of strained relationship with Jazz’s Donovan Mitchell overblown
Rudy Gobert addressed a report that emerged over the weekend regarding his allegedly strained relationship with Utah Jazz teammate Donovan Mitchell in the wake of their coronavirus diagnoses.
Speaking with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks on an Instagram Live video, Gobert’s message was pretty simple: The whole thing is being overblown.
“It’s true that we didn’t speak for a while, but we spoke a few days ago and you know, like I said, we’re both ready to go out there and win a championship for this team,” Gobert said.
Gobert’s positive test led to the suspension of the NBA season on the night of March 11, and Mitchell subsequently tested positive. Though both are now fine, and it’s hard to know how either of them contracted COVID-19, Mitchell had said it took him “a while to cool off” at Gobert, seemingly due to the Frenchman’s carelessness in the lead-up to their diagnoses.
Gobert expounded on his relationship with his teammates with Rooks.
