Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was not pleased with his rookie teammate for getting ejected from the team’s 33-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Defensive tackle Ross Blacklock was thrown out of the game in the fourth quarter for shoving after the whistle. At the time of the unnecessary roughness call, Houston was losing 30-16.
“It’s stupid,” Watt said, via The Houston Chronicle. “It’s selfish. It was a stupid play. It was selfish. I’ve spoken to Ross before. It pisses me off.
“It’s a very selfish move late in the game, and it’s dumb. It’s very dumb to hurt your team in that type of setting for no reason.”
Blacklock was selected by the Texans in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft out of TCU.
The Texans fell to 0-2 on the season and next face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
