Teams will be separate into 4 groups of three, with a organisation winners afterwards contesting a UEFA Nations League Finals (semi-finals, third-place compare and final) in Jun 2019 to turn a UEFA Nations League winners. One horde nation will be allocated in Dec 2018 from among a finalist teams.
The 4 sides that finish bottom of their groups will be relegated to League B for a 2020 edition.
The tip four-ranked League A teams that do not validate for UEFA EURO 2020 will enter play-offs in Mar 2020, with one finals place on offer.

Austria, Wales, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine, Republic of Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Turkey

The 55 participating teams were separate according to their position in a UEFA National Team Coefficient Rankings following a finish of a European Qualifiers for a 2018 FIFA World Cup (as per 11 Oct 2017; play-off formula will not be included).
League A includesthe 12 top-ranked teams. The subsequent 12 teams are in League B, a subsequent 15 in League C and a remaining 16 in League D.
