Kendall Jenner Proves that Horizontal Stripes Are FlatteringÂ

Fashion rules are made for breaking!Â Â We are often told that wearing horizontal stripes can be unflattering because they create the illusion of a widened frame. Well, Kendall Jenner is here to turn that rule on its head.

The supermodel was spotted out and about on Wednesday, June 6, in NYC looking the part â€” and breaking fashion rules while she was at it. Jenner was rocking a horizontally striped mini with a couple of twists: it was sequined, multi-colored and the stripes varied in size. The adorable frock in question, from Ralph Laurenâ€™s Spring 18 collection (currently sold out),Â wasnâ€™t just fun and whimsical. Rather, because of the various tricks of the eye, particularly the different colors of the stripes and their different widths thatÂ gave a narrowing visual effect, it was ultra-flattering because it nipped in Kendallâ€™s tiny waist.

The artful tricks of the eye werenâ€™t the only display of supermodel KJâ€™s fashion prowess. The reality TV star expertly paired the updated classic look with accessories that were all throwback. For example: she carried a Prada nylon hobo bag that looked like it was straight out of Sex and the City, and perched a pair of thin-frame Kendall + Kylie Collection glasses perched at the tip of her nose. All in all, the look was sporty-girl-goes fashionÂ and it was perfection.
