Lepp’s nine-year-old son Russell underwent a heart transplant as an infant, and needs to revisit a sanatorium each year for a procession called a catheterization of a heart. It requires a ubiquitous anesthetic.

He cautions, however, that it’s critical not to be too crude around health professionals lest we be labelled a rascal – either that’s a satisfactory comment or not.

“Ask questions and be respectful. There are a lot of really gifted health-care professionals out there and it’s most improved to have them on your side than against,” he said.
