38 opioid-related deaths in Windsor-Essex in initial 6 months of 2019

More than 150 people have visited Windsor puncture bedrooms due to opioid poisoning in a initial 6 months of a year. 

According to rough information expelled by Public Health Ontario, 152 people were treated in internal puncture bedrooms between Jan 2019 and Jun 2019. 

In those 6 months, 38 people were hospitalized and 38 people died due to opioids. 

More than 400 Ontarians died from opioid overdoses in a initial 3 months of 2019. Overdoses opposite a range led to 3,420 puncture room visits from Apr 2019 to Jun 2019, according to information expelled this week by Public Health Ontario. 

Across Canada, tighten to 14,000 people have died from opioids over a final 4 years. 

In Windsor-Essex in 2018, 51 people died from opioid-related causes.
