The showrunner/director delved into additional detail about The Book of Boba Fett, a standalone spin-off series set to star Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, with acclaimed filmmaker Robert Rodriguez as executive producer.

‘We didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement of all the shows, so they let me keep this one a secret,’ he said. ‘And then we go into production right after that on The Mandalorian, back with the main character that we all know and love… pretty soon following that.

Favreau added that ‘there’s a lot of Star Wars content coming out’ in the near future with the enduring success of the George Lucas sci-fi franchise.

‘I think they announced 10 projects, I think this will be 11,’ he said.
