Amazon is slated to debut the premiere two episodes of its new series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, days ahead of its premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
The episodes will air at Cinemark theaters on August 31 in a collaboration with Amazon, with the series slated to premiere on September 2 on Amazon Prime Video, Variety reported Sunday.
The theatrical screenings are a promotional event for members of the Cinemark Movie Rewards program.

Tickets opened up for availability Monday, and are accompanied by a snack voucher in the amount of $10.
The screenings, which pay homage to the The Lord of the Rings film series, will take place in the range of 200 global locations, the outlet reported, including in the U.S. and Canada, as well as the U.K., Argentina, Colombia, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.
The screenings are part of a promotional effort aimed at fans of both the novel series by J.R.R. Tolkien and the films by Peter Jackson.
The series had a production budget of more than $400 million, the outlet reported, and was called ‘the largest television series ever made’ by Stuart Nash, who is the minister for economic development and tourism in New Zealand.

The show is a prequel set thousands of years prior to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and set in the Second Age of Middle-earth.
Among the members of the ensemble cast include Morfydd Clark, Nazanin Boniadi, Peter Mullan, Benjamin Walker, Sir Lenny Henry, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur and Ismael Cruz Córdova. The series showrunners are J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.
Each of the initial two episodes of the eight-episode season will air on Amazon Prime Video September 2, with episodes airing individually every Friday thereafter.
