Patti LaBelle’s adult nephew claims she kicked him out of her $2.3m home because he is a Trump supporter… as fans tell him to ‘get a job’

Patti LaBelle’s adult nephew William Holte has claimed that she kicked him out of her $2.3 million home due to his political preferences.

The 82-year-old’s adopted son, born to her late sister Jacqueline Holte, railed against his family in a lengthy statement posted on X on Thursday.

Before sounding off, he prefaced, ‘Here’s what supporting TRUMP cost me.’

Holte then explained, ‘Christmas 2019, she had just informed me that I had to move out of the home I had happily shared with her for 12 years. So when I heard her and my family talking about what a threat Trump was, I asked her “why should I be afraid of trump when you’re the one who just made me homeless?”’

He went on to claim that he was ‘instantly attacked’ by ‘her family’ and thrown out of LaBelle’s house.

Social media were quick to call out Holte’s ‘entitlement’ and tell him to ‘get a job’ on an emphatic Reddit thread.

The Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for LaBelle for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Responding directly to Holte’s note that, ‘My punishment for using my 1st Amendment right this way was LIFETIME BANISHMENT,’ one person on Reddit said, ‘The first amendment protects you from the government, not your aunt’s house that you were crashing at.’

Another posted a pair of old viral comments from Demi Lovato, in which she told an overzealous fan to ‘get a job’ and ‘stay away from’ her younger sister.

There was also a Redditor who asked, ‘Was this supposed to make people take his side? 

‘Cause it makes him sound like a whiny mooch that’s mad his far too generous aunt told him to kick rocks.’ 

Throwing Holte’s words back in his face, someone else posited, ‘”The home we happily shared?” or “The home she owned that I happily lived in for free?”‘ 

Another had the same thought, writing online, ‘”Shared with her” when she 10000% owned it is crazy.’ 

Yet another person quipped, ‘Feels like someone should pull himself up by his bootstraps.’ 

Holte claimed his aunt is ‘still not speaking to me,’ adding, ‘And because SHE’S not speaking to me: NO ONE IN HER CIRCLE IS SPEAKING TO ME. And this will apparently last the rest of my life.’

Holte claimed his aunt is ‘still not speaking to me’

In his rant, Holte wrote that, ‘No one violates and disrespects democracy and free speech more than democrats,’ declaring his allegiance to the republican party.

‘I’d rather vote Republican because I WANT to, than Democrat because I HAVE to. God Bless America,’ he finished his tweet.

This isn’t the first time Holte’s impassioned thoughts have been aired publicly.

In 2020, LaBelle addressed her nephew’s politics while speaking with O magazine.

‘Guess what? I didn’t choose my family. I choose my friends,’ she said at the time. ‘I love Billy. He has a Republican mind. And, guess what? I don’t.’

She continued, ‘But do I hate him for having the mind that he has? No, I can’t.’

The beloved singer explained, ‘You give people chances, when sometimes, they don’t even know what they’re doing or why. So I can’t beat him up for the rest of his life. I decided to take the high road with him by letting him know that you make mistakes — but when my name comes in that mistake, that’s a no-no. 

‘Certain things happen in life, and I just keep going on, because I love him.’
