North West, 13, hits back at claims she looks ‘demonic’ as mom Kim Kardashian defends her goth look and piercings
From piercings to black clunky boots, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is not afraid of standing out and embracing her own fashion sense.
North West is just 13 years old and has already created a style that is truly her own.
But now North is learning to deal with people who may be quick to form their own opinions about her based on the way she dresses.
During a TikTok livestream with her mother Kim Kardashian, 45, North slammed claims she was ‘demonic’ because of the way she dresses – and urged followers to avoid judging ‘a book by its cover.’
‘I’m not demonic guys, stop saying I’m demonic. No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover,’ she said.
Kim suggested it was the black grills and piercings that were causing the misunderstanding:

‘Yeah, I feel like people say that ’cause of the black grills and just, like, piercings and stuff,’ she said.
‘Yeah but I don’t know why you guys should put that with demonic because I don’t get that,’ North said.
Kim advised her daughter to ignore what people think of her: ‘I don’t think people really get it, but do you care?’ she said.
Similarly, North mentioned that the white ‘gothic Lolita outfit’ she wore during her performance at The Vic Theater in Chicago was evidence she wasn’t into ‘that demon stuff’.
‘I was like, if I’m gonna do my first show ever, I gotta come like an angel, all white. ‘Cause you guys know I’m not on that demon stuff. I believe in Jesus. That’s how I came to show you guys I’m actually a light, not dark.’
‘I didn’t even know that symbolism,’ Kim said. ‘I didn’t know that that’s why you wanted to wear white.
‘Isn’t it funny, or like not funny, but kind of crazy, when you see things and people say something about a narrative about your life and then it’s just so the opposite and they think they know and say it. It’s so crazy,’ Kim said.
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for the Kardashian family for comment but has not yet heard back.
Kim also revealed her daughter had been wanting piercings for years.

‘When she was a baby, dropping her off at school, all she wanted was… her septum pierced or her eyebrow pierced,’ Kim said. ‘She would do like a double brow, just like in pre-K, going in with fake piercings.’
‘So you guys can’t say, where did the style came, is this style from the divorce? No, queen,’ North said.
North is the eldest of Kim and Kanye’s four children together.
Fashion expert Rochelle White previously told The Daily Mail that it’s clear she’s drawing inspiration from Gen Z trends, K-pop stars, her father Kanye’s fashion legacy and even her auntie Kylie Jenner.

Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL last year, she said: ‘We see Y2K influences such as wedge trainers, denim minis and platforms, but with a 2025 update.
‘Pop culture has an influence in everything. So, with the Netflix show Wednesday, the Goth-Glam look is popular as an asthetic.
‘Think lots of neo-goth, corsets, ruffles and heavy-soled shoes as an example, which North has been seen rocking.
‘Her father Kanye, will also be an inspiration for her, particularly with oversized styles. I feel that this is where her performative element comes from. Her nods to his music persona and wardrobe are in tandem.’

That doesn’t mean, however, that there are no references to her mother’s side of the family – with Kylie Jenner providing hair inspiration.
‘Kylie has been known for her coloured hair. I feel that North has taken a page out of her aunt’s book and is paying homage to that,’ Rochelle added.
Rochelle claimed North’s distinctive style is probably not a rebellion against the Kardashian aesthetic but more generational taste.
She added: ‘She is having fun with style and fashion in her own way, but pulling on everything that is around her, which I believe she should do for that age and also in fashion.
‘She might not be in rebellion but being her own person, which everyone should let her be. She is no doubt trying to set herself apart from her mother Kim and her family but she still remains part of them with coordinated pieces.’
