Beyonce’s lookalike daughters Blue Ivy, 14, and Rumi, 9, join her for a rare public appearance in her hometown of Houston
Beyonce made a rare appearance with her daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi at a special event in her hometown of Houston, Texas on Tuesday.
Blue Ivy, 14, and Rumi, nine, joined the superstar, 45, as she and her Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, 45, and her mom Tina Knowles, 72, celebrated the opening of their Knowles-Rowland House in a video shared on YouTube.
The family members and local residents gathered for the opening of the 31-unit housing complex, which will provide permanent supportive housing after being redeveloped following damage from Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
While Beyonce stunned in a beige dress, her eldest daughter Blue opted for a green sports jersey, light blue jeans and heels.
With her hair styled in a long ponytail, Blue bore a striking resemblance to Beyonce’s look at the 2003 NBA All-Star Game, where the singer also rocked a similar outfit and hairstyle.
Both Blue and Rumi, who wore an adorable navy dress and a long cardigan, helped with the ribbon cutting at the ceremony.

Beyonce had both of her hands on Rumi’s shoulders as she stood behind her.
Rumi’s hair was styled in a ponytail just like her big sister’s.
Meanwhile, their grandmother Tina looked effortlessly chic in a black pantsuit, with her hair cascading down in waves.
Rowland rocked an oversized beige suit and a black top underneath.
Aside from Blue and Rumi, Beyonce is also mom to son Sir Carter, nine, with rapper Jay-Z, 56.
It’s unclear if her son and husband joined her at the event.
The girls previously made onstage appearances during Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Tour in 2025.
They both joined the singer during her performance of Protector. Blue also served as one of the backup dancers on several other songs.

Earlier this year Blue made her Met Gala debut as she joined her famous parents at the event.
It has been 10 years since the Destiny’s Child singer last attended the bash, however it was her teenager who stole the spotlight as she ascended the legendary staircase with poise and style.
‘It feels surreal because my daughter’s here,’ Beyonce told La La Anthony during an interview with Vogue’s livestream.
‘She looks so beautiful. It’s incredible to be able to share it with her,’ she said.
The couple’s only son, Sir Carter, continues to be noticeably absent when his siblings make public appearances together.

In fact, the twins have never joined either parent together at awards shows, red carpet events or even sports games since they were born in June 2017.
During a rare candid chat about motherhood in 2024, Beyonce admitted to GQ Magazine that she manages her schedule around her children so she is always with them.
‘My kids come with me everywhere I go. They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me,’ she explained. ‘They are in dance rehearsals. It’s natural that they would learn my choreography.’
She also emphasized her desire to keep their lives as normal as it could be considering their global fame.
The singer explained: ‘One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand. It’s very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art.’
