Megyn Kelly approves of Charlize Theron's 'Bombshell' casting: 'You could do worse, right?'

Megyn Kelly has only kind things to say about Charlize Theron’s upcoming portrayal of her in the movie “Bombshell.” 

The Daily Mail caught up with the journalist recently while she was in Napa for the wedding of her friend, Fox News contributor Guy Benson. He and Adam Wise tied the knot Saturday. 

Theron’s strong resemblance to Kelly, as seen in the trailer for the movie slated for a December release, set Twitter abuzz last month. 

Kelly said as far as Theron’s portrayal she doesn’t know “anything about it,” but had praise for the Oscar-winner. 

“I’m her fan,” said Kelly. “(She) seems smart, seems like a good mom. So, you could do worse, right?”

She was less certain about the likelihood that she would see the feature. 

“I don’t know. I haven’t decided that yet,” Kelly said. “I didn’t watch the other one – the Showtime one (“The Loudest Voice”) – I don’t know if I’m gonna watch this one.”

But there is still hope.

“I’m gonna let someone who loves me watch it first and tell me whether I should see it,” she said.

Kelly’s former NBC colleague Al Roker is also unsure if he’ll see the movie. 

“You know, I haven’t seen the trailer. I don’t know, you know, you never know,” he told USA TODAY Wednesday. “I have trouble getting to the moves on a regular basis so… The last one I saw was ‘Lion King.’ “

Roker forecast good things for Kelly, though they haven’t talked since her stormy departure from NBC nearly a year ago after “Megyn Kelly Today” was canceled.

“I have not (been in touch), but I wish her all the best,” Roker said. “I’m sure we’ll hear from her soon,” he added. “I’m sure she’s going to still do great stuff.”
