Chrissy Teigen reacts to being the ONLY celebrity Joe Biden’s @POTUS Twitter account is following

  • January 21, 2021

Joe Biden is officially the United States’ commander-in-chief, which awards him full access to the now infamous @POTUS Twitter account.

And Chrissy Teigen reacted in pure excitement when she realized that she is the ONLY celebrity that the 78-year-old president chose to follow on Wednesday.

‘OH MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!’ wrote the model, 35, who shared a screenshot of Biden’s ‘following’ list with her 13.5million followers.

As of now, Biden happens to be following just 11 accounts on the platform, with many of those accounts belonging to his personal White House aides.

Specifically he is following the likes of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Director of National Economic Council Brian Deese, and Domestic Policy Advisor Susan Rice.

Chrissy, still in shock over Biden’s surprise follow, sent out a few follow-up tweets, including one that poked fun at former president Donald Trump.

Teigen was famously blocked by Trump, while he had control of the @POTUS Twitter account.

But with the account’s settings reset and Biden behind the wheel, Chrissy can ‘finally see the president’s tweets’ and ‘they probably won’t be unhinged’ like Trump’s often were.

Taking a moment to poke fun at herself, the wife of John Legend joked that she ‘should prob never tweet again,’ since Biden will get direct access to all of her crazy antics.

Chrissy, John, and their two children have been having ‘an incredibly special day’ in D.C., as they partake in the numerous Inauguration Day festivities.

Earlier in the day, Teigen expressed how thankful she was to have experienced the historical event ‘sober,’ in an emotional Twitter post.

‘ran our a**es up the stairs for this shot,’ began Teigen, who included a snapshot of herself, husband John Legend, 42, and their two children posing on the Capitol stairs.

‘just incredible to be here. sober. I know that’s weird but it’s like…a different world for me. everything is new and better,’ she gushed, adding: ‘very happy. the most happy bigly happy.’

On December 25, Chrissy revealed via Instagram that she decided to go sober sometime in late November, noting that she was ‘four weeks sober’ at the time.

Teigen’s decision to ditch alcohol for good in late November came after the tragic pregnancy loss she experienced in September.

Along with her sobriety, the Fast And The Furious noted that she has been ‘going through intense grief counseling,’ even sharing an emotional post-session video with her Instagram followers in December.

Incredible 'just incredible to be here. sober. I know that¿s weird but it¿s like...a different world for me. everything is new and better,' she wrote

In the brief clip, Chrissy stated that she has been ‘doing her best to work on herself and stay positive’ in recent weeks, which appears to have done wonders for her current outlook.

Teigen shared tons of photos and videos to her Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday as she took on the Capitol with her family, including a snapshot of her and John sharing a celebratory smooch.

Teigen looked ultra chic in a bright red coat with matching pumps, while carrying her essential items in a black velvet purse with gold hardware.

John had a scarf wrapped around his neck, while his body remained comfortably bundled up beneath a striking beige coat.

Another snapshot showed Chrissy and John holding hands before the Washington monument with daughter Luna, four, and son Miles resting comfortable on their shoulders.

John is slated to perform during the inaugural primetime special Celebrating America, which airs Wednesday night from 8:30-10pm EST on most networks.

Tom Hanks hosts the special in honor of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris – and performers include Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Foo Fighters.

Prior to gaining entrance to the inauguration, Chrissy was subject to her seventh COVID-19 test if the week, writing that her and her family could not ‘go anywhere til [they] got [their] results.’

‘Tested 7 of the last 7 days for various shoots and this event. Please lord fingers crossed you don’t have to hear my window news anymore,’ concluded Chrissy, who was referencing to the hilarious inauguration commentary she was giving from the comfort of her hotel room’s windowsill.

On Tuesday night, Chrissy received a bit of backlash on social media for attending the inauguration amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It occurred shortly after the star shared a snapshot of her and John’s two-year-old son Miles packing for their trip to the Capitol, writing: ‘My baby got his first fat lip pushing his car down the driveway. still happy packing for inauguration though!’

One irked Washington, D.C. resident wrote: ‘Hey Chrissy DC residents aren’t very ‘happy’ right now and can’t even ‘happy pack’ their cars to drive to the grocery store because of the military state the city is in but yeah LOL come on down especially in a pandemic. How happy!!!’

There is also heightened security in the city due to the recent riots at the Capitol, which have made the city nearly impossible to navigate for local residents.

The Twitter user also noted that due to the pandemic and social-distancing ‘no one will be there’ to see Legend perform, which prompted the question: ‘Why couldn’t he do a virtual performance and also why does his whole family have to go when literally no one can move about the city?’

The Cravings CEO, no stranger to clap backs, was clearly annoyed by the faux outrage towards her family.

‘for f**ks sake why are you guys always always mad at me, all I wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference,’ tweeted Teigen.

Chrissy also reminded those upset at D.C.’s current lockdown restrictions that it is not directly her fault, but that she feels their frustration during such a volatile time.

‘this is not my fault but I’m sorry you’re frustrated. I just like to share what we are up to and whatnot,’ wrote the wife of John Legend, who boasts 13.5million followers on the platform.
