Ariana Grande surprised her fans as she debuted a hair transformation after stepping away from the spotlight for a planned hiatus.
The 33-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Thursday to share a series of selfies to show off her freshly trimmed and styled bob hairstyle.
She ditched her signature high ponytail for a chin-length crop in her natural chocolate brunette color — just shortly after revealing that she suffered a heartbreaking loss in her family.
The ends of her hair were flipped up, and she parted her hair to the side, pinning her bangs back for a fresh, bubbly look.
The Petal hitmaker just left her signature heart symbol in place of a caption, and a slew of stars and fans alike flooded her comments section with praise for her new look.
In the snapshot, she held up her pointer finger to her lips and simultaneously showed off her collection of dainty tattoos.

Earlier this year, she announced a planned break from the spotlight at the end of her Eternal Sunshine tour.
She released a music video for her song Petal over the summer, raising alarm bells and sparking fan concern over her health as she appeared onscreen with her sternum protruding.
In August, she subsequently quit her West End role in Sunday in the Park with George amid ‘ongoing public scrutiny’ over her apparent weight loss.
The West End revival was later cancelled after both Grande and her Wicked costar Johanthan Bailey withdrew from the theatrical production.
At the time, Bailey said he was stepping down to support Grande.
A spokesperson for the star told People at the time: ‘Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.’
Shortly after announcing the break through her rep, the pop star personally insisted her hiatus from the spotlight was planned ‘a long time ago,’ telling fans at a subsequent show that ‘boundaries need to be set.’
She clarified to fans that the upcoming pause in public appearances had been ‘quietly’ orchestrated ‘a long time ago’ before insisting that the decision was not made because ‘negativity was ruining things for me.’

While she has not been making public appearances, she has continued posting on social media and promoting her beauty brand. And she has a press tour coming up ahead.
Her upcoming film Focker-in-Law is set to premiere on Thanksgiving, and she reportedly is ‘committed’ to promoting the flick despite her planned hiatus.
Grande has also been offering peeks into her on-again relationship with dancer-turned-photographer Ricky Alvarez after they rekindled their romance over the summer.
The couple, who initially dated from 2015 to 2016, revealed they got back together in July, just months after she split from Wicked co-star Ethan Slater following a three-year relationship.
Grande soft-launched the on-again romance on July 27 by sharing a clip of them clinking olives before officially going public with a tagged photo dump on August 12.
