Pipeline Burst Along Santa Barbara Coast Spills Into 4-Mile Long Oil Slick

GOLETA, Calif. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard estimates that about 21,000 gallons of oil spilled into a sea when a tube pennyless on a executive California coast.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Andrea Anderson says Tuesday’s tube mangle has combined an oil sharp stretching for about 4 miles of beach and about 50 yards into a ocean.

Santa Barbara County glow officials contend a source was a tube that pennyless and sent oil into a culvert that ran into a ocean.

The pipe, that is operated by Plains All American Pipeline LP, has been close off. The association did not immediately respond to phone messages seeking comment.
