‘Golden Bachelor’ Alum Amy Kaplan Reveals Reason for Getting $75K Facelift

Golden Bachelor alum Amy Kaplan is breaking down her decision to undergo a deep-plane — and rather expensive — facelift.

“So I’ve been talking about it for a while,” Kaplan, 63, told People in an interview published on Sunday, May 3. “But, you know, I’m like four and a half, five years out from all that. So I decided that I’m feeling really good. I work out a couple of hours a day, I eat healthy, so I’m like, ‘All right, I’m ready. We’re going to do this.’”

Kaplan explained that she decided to pursue the cosmetic procedure because “what I see in the mirror doesn’t correlate to how I feel inside.” She ultimately saw Beverly Hills, California, based facial plastic surgeon Dr. Patrick K. Davis, who told the outlet that the cost for the procedure was “around the $75,000 range.”

“So, you see all of this sagging? I have a sad look because my lips frown because when everything starts drooping, you look sad,” she said. “I’m doing my neck, I’m doing my face. He goes vertical, so it brings the cheeks back up. It’s a deep-plane vertical. He calls it, they call it a vertical lift. It’s going to go up. I’m going to do a lateral brow lift, not one where you look surprised, but just the outer third of the brows, so they go up a little bit.”

Following the facelift, Kaplan shared that she’s feeling “really good” and has “no” regrets.

“I was back at the gym, I would say, probably two weeks after the procedure,” she said. “I waited until about, like, a good four or five weeks. I started doing lightweights and now it’s just going to be eight weeks today, I think. And I’m back at the gym lifting.”

Despite being worried about the first few days of recovery, Kaplan said it was not as painful as she expected and instead of being in immense pain simply felt “discomfort.”

“I look just like myself, but, you know, the younger version of me,” she continued. “Now my face is matching my body and my soul and spirit. So far, [my daughters are] so happy. They said, ‘Mom, you look like you did 10 years ago. You look really good. It’s so natural.’”

Kaplan vied for the affections of Mel Owens on 2025’s season 2 of The Golden Bachelor. After Owens sent Kaplan packing, he ultimately ended the show in a relationship with Peg Munson. Kaplan, for her part, had her sights set on being the next Golden Bachelorette after the show.

“Well, if they call me, I would definitely answer,” Kaplan exclusively told Us Weekly in 2025. “I have to say that that would be more of a better, let’s say, scene of events for me because I would be the one they are picking and they would have to compete for me.”

She continued, “Of course, I would only be with them if there was a connection. And I would not have to chase after a man. I mean, how backwards is that? I’ve never chased after a man in my life. They need to come to me. I mean, it’s ridiculous.”
