We all saw that Nationwide ad
It’s probable we never saw this commercial, entitled “That’s How,” given it ran locally in St. Louis. It’s an ad from a National Council on Alcoholism Drug Abuse, meant to lift recognition about St. Louis’ heroin and medication painkiller epidemic.
In a ad, a teen is seen sitting on his bed in a daze. He afterwards passes out, carrying evidently overdosed, moments before his mom walks adult to his room to find him fibbing subsequent to a bag of pills. She tries to arise him and afterwards sobs over what we assume is now a routine body. Throughout a ad, a lilting voice in a credentials sings about drug abuse, final with, “That’s how, how we OD’d on heroin.”
Watch a ad, above.

On a website, a NCADA explains:
“In regulating a collection of play to communicate this essential law in a 60-second spot, we combined a together separation between a visible story we see on shade and a low-pitched story we hear. It is disturbing. It is jarring. It is unpleasant to watch. And we contingency compensate courtesy to it.”
