Artist Writes ‘Welcome To Cleveland’ On His Roof For Planes Flying Overhead. He Lives In Milwaukee.

The guy’s got a clarity of humor.

If there’s one thing 62-year-old artist Mark Gubin admits he’s “pretty good” at, it’s madness. That was his goal 27 years ago, when he beheld planes roving to and from Mitchell International Airport sincerely low over his art studio. So he grabbed a drum and some white paint and wrote “Welcome To Cleveland” in vast letters on his roof.

The thing is, Gubin lives in Milwaukee.

The antic seems to simulate Gubin’s ubiquitous opinion on life. “It was all tongue-in-cheek, only for fun. Living in a universe is not a dress rehearsal. You improved have fun with it,” he told a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

We adore this guy.
