Via rail shortening use amid COVID-19 pandemic

Via Rail has announced it is halting some routes, as good as fluctuating some prior cancellations, in response to a ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Three routes — Montreal to Halifax (the Ocean), Toronto to Vancouver (the Canadian), and a Jasper-Prince George-Prince Rupert line — will all be dangling until May 1. The routes were previously suspended, but the rail service announced Thursday that a cancellations are being extended for some-more than another month.

Meanwhile, informal service between Montreal-Senneterre and Montreal-Jonquière in Quebec, and Sudbury-White River in northern Ontario will be reduced to one turn outing per week, starting Mar 23.

“These new measures we are announcing currently are difficult, though a stream conditions is well-developed and calls for an well-developed response,” pronounced Cynthia Garneau, Via Rail’s boss and CEO. 

Other on-board and in-station services, like container use and grill access, will be reduced or entirely removed. Via also warned that ramped adult cleaning protocols, in place given Mar 17, could supplement to outing delays and late departures on trains via a country.

Via Rail also serve pronounced it is fluctuating its cancellation process to embody all transport by to May 31, that will allow passengers to cgange their transport during any time before their designed departure, or to cancel for a full reinstate but use charges.
