Microsoft’s last big-name partner for Windows 10 Mobile is leaving the platform behind as the company continues to show it holds no clear strategy in the mobile industry. HP doesn’t believe any partners should release new Windows-based phones due to the always-changing and always-unsuccessful decisions made by its developer. If Microsoft can’t stick to one strategy and remain committed, HP won’t be involved in Windows for mobile devices.
HP planned to release a number of new Windows phones in the future, but the entire roadmap has since been canceled.
There’s no hiding HP’s disappointment. Nick Lazaridis, who leads HP overseas in Europe and additional regions, did an interview in which he states Microsoft’s original strategy shifted to focus on things that his company doesn’t agree with.
Here’s what Lazaridis told The Register:
“Microsoft, as all companies do, decided on a change in strategy and so they are less focused on what they thought they would be focused on today.â€
